I am a former field hockey player that has always had an interest in the game. I live in Colgate with my husband Dave and our daughters, Natalie and Leslie, and our dog Edith. In my professional life I am a Registered Nurse with a background in Critical Care and Informatics. When I have a minute to spare I enjoy quilting and running. My greatest accomplishments in those two areas are having the courage to enter a quilt into competition at the WI State Fair and running a 200(ish) mile relay race from Madison to Chicago.
Why I love LIFT: I enjoy advocating for their fun, enriching and positive atmosphere for our athletes. I believe in the LIFT mission, the positive coaching strategies, and empowerment these can foster in young girls.
LIFT Field Hockey will provide K5 through 12th grade girls in the Milwaukee area with an opportunity to play field hockey and practice healthy fitness habits in the off-season, while learning teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and developing confidence and self-esteem. We will help grow the sport for the area middle school and high schools that play by offering a place to learn and play for any girl, regardless of experience or ability. While LIFT FH focuses on developing skills and team camaraderie in field hockey, we will use the sport as a tool for practicing sportsmanship and teamwork, teaching leadership development, and volunteering in the community.
